Swan 100 Refit, Count Pointer Count

Rigging Projects Refit Swan 100-03 Point Counter Point

A 26-year-old icon, re-engineered for modern cruiser-racing

Rigging Projects has recently completed a full sailing systems refit on the Swan 100-03 Point Counter Point, a yacht that proves age is just a number when you’ve got the right upgrades. Originally launched in 2000, this 100ft beauty has now been brought firmly into the modern era, ready to take on both US coastal cruising and the intensity of Mediterranean regattas. The project kicked off in January 2025 and Point Counter Point is now midway through a European race season.

A Modern Makeover with Purpose

Working closely with the owner’s team, Rigging Projects carried out a full review of the yacht’s sailing systems. The brief was clear: elevate Point Counter Point to current coastal superyacht standards while keeping her adaptable enough to switch seamlessly between competitive racing and long-distance cruising. At the heart of the upgrade is a new bowsprit configuration, featuring a 2 x 2-1 Pignose setup. This allows for furling a Code Zero and flying A2 and A4 spinnakers, unlocking serious performance gains while also “future-proofing” the setup for easy sail wardrobe upgrades down the line.

It’s All in the Details

This refit wasn’t just about big upgrades, it’s the finer details that really bring the system together.

Every component has been considered not just for performance, but for how it integrates into the wider system.

Smart Collaboration, Smarter Hardware

Close collaboration with North Sails, Nautor Swan, and BM Composites ensured hardware placement was optimised across the deck. Key additions include:

It’s a setup designed for maximum control when racing and clean simplicity when cruising.

Powering Up Below Deck

Working alongside Marine Results on-site, Rigging Projects upgraded the yacht’s core systems:

This ensures Point Counter Point isn’t just ready for today but primed for whatever comes next.

Performance Meets Practicality

Where possible, Rigging Projects drew from their extensive library of standard parts, keeping the project cost-effective without sacrificing performance or reliability. The result? A meticulously executed refit that balances innovation, durability and style. Point Counter Point is now fully equipped for her next chapter, whether that’s a Mediterranean regatta start line or effortless cruising.
